The God Who Sees Me

El Roi- The God who Sees Me

Genesis 16 & 21:8-20

During a session of “praying through” on 2-19-21, I had a vision. I was looking at a glass window from the inside as rain fell. I could see numerous raindrops hit the window and slowly roll away. It was then that God said to me:

“These are the tears that you have shed tonight, and I am holding every one of them. I am the God who Sees you. I see you at your best. I see you at your worst. I see you in the in-between. You do not have to be perfect to be in my presence. I have forgiven you of what you ask. Now forgive yourself.”

God is not some far away, impersonal entity. He is with us every day. He is with us in the morning, in the evening. When we are coming and going. While we are weeping & rejoicing. He is for us & always will be for us.

God sees you in the every-day activities.

He sees you when you feel alone.

He is with you in the depths of your depression & anxiety.

He is with you when you question if you are a good parent or spouse.

When you feel like no one else cares. Like no one else understands. When you feel like you are in the fight of your life with no one there to save you, God sees you.

He hears you.

The words you say quietly. The words you say loudly. & the words you say without speaking at all. He hears. He knows.

As I write this, I hear the steady sound of raindrops. It seems like it has been raining in North Carolina for months now. Little sunshine. Just clouds and rain, rain, rain. It is almost as if much of the world is in a state of constant flowing grief. So much fear, doubt, and uncertainty. When we find ourselves here, what will make or break us is where we look to for comfort. We can look to the World or we can look to the Word. The world will not relieve us from a downpouring of rain, but the Word will. The Word is our strength and our weapon. The shield of faith is our umbrella protecting us from the rain and wind. A raincoat is like our belt of truth and breastplate of righteousness keeping us warm and dry. Our rainboots help us walk steadily in the muck and mire as we trek forward to our next destination.

When you feel like you are in the middle of a storm, dress appropriately.

Dress for the defeat of the enemy and not your destruction.

Keep your weapon sharpened and readily available.

& never forget that your Heavenly Father is the God who sees you always.

He will see you to your situation and through your situation.

The battle belongs to Him & He will never stop fighting for you.

Here are a few examples of what the Word says about you:

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations

Psalm 139:17-18 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.

Psalm 56:8 You Keep track of all my sorrows, You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

Matthew 10:30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Matthew 6:26-27 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour of his life?

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:37-39 No, in all things we are MORE than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Proverbs 8:17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.
